Exciting news—our very own staff attorney Adam Zaiger is Wisconsin’s state coordinator for the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC)! His term will run from 2024 to 2026.

What NACC Does—and Adam’s Role
As the state coordinator, Adam is responsible for promoting NACC’s mission to advocate for the rights of children and youth in the child welfare system. NACC trains and supports a diverse community of legal professionals serving children, parents, and families, and Adam connects them to what’s happening with child welfare law in Wisconsin specifically. He also serves as a point of contact for Wisconsin lawyers seeking information about NACC offerings, such as certifications, policy advocacy, and trainings for members and law students.
Adam believes that NACC has a lot to offer. He says, “Ultimately, I would like to get more people in the area involved in more depth. With strength in numbers, they could become a presence in child welfare law in Milwaukee. And I think that would be of benefit to our clients and children in the community.”
Looking Forward
Adam is enthusiastic about helping clients through this connection to national networks and resources. He says, “Being a state coordinator gets me in contact with people in other states, which helps inform me of what is out there as far as better practices in child welfare law.” Adam also notes that NACC offers a certification to become a Child Welfare Law Specialist, and he plans to complete the training. He is always working to increase his knowledge to better support our families—way to go, Adam!
